Food Storage Tips

A simple zero waste food storage tip for your veggies

This simple tip will help to keep your veggies, herbs and salads fresh. Dampen a piece of cotton fabric, place it in a glass or other container and put your produce on top of it before storing it in the salad compartment of the fridge.

In particular, I use this to prevent your salad leaves or herbs from wilting too quickly as I find these are more prone to fading fast.

Another option for your herbs is to chop them up before they go over the top, put them in an ice cube tray with some water and freeze them. You can then add them directly from the freezer into a stew, bolognese, tagine, soup, etc.
