A beautiful, functional and minimal waste product
This was one of my very early eco-switches. I love this product because not only is it minimal waste but it's beautifully designed. The product itself is lovely to look at and easy to use.
The floss is made from 100% natural silk which can be composted, the canister is glass and the lid is stainless steel. The silk is coated with natural Candelilla wax and flavoured with organic essential oils. For me, the floss works just as well as the plastic coated variety but tastes nicer.
The product comes in a small recyclable cardboard box and is wrapped in paper - no plastic packaging - what a lovely change!
The silk tooth floss is €6 per canister and the refills cost €4 (per 30m roll), which brings it in line with it's standard plastic alternative. It's available in a lot of health food shops and also at The Source, the Minimal Waste Grocery, The Kind, The Little Green Shop.
